“Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation at 4 PM tomorrow,” the Prime Minister’s Office tweeted.
The Prime Minister’s Office, however, did not specifically mention whether the Modi will speak on India-China border tensions or the Covid-19 situation in the country.
Prime Minister address will come in the backdrop of India banning 59 apps from China including TikTok, citing privacy and security concerns amid worsening relations between the two neighbouring countries. In a statement, the Govt. said the apps were blocked “in view of information available they are engaged in activities which is prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order”.
It’s unclear what the PM will be talking about but his address comes on the day when Unlock 1 will be ending and Unlock 2 begins 1 July.

In his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ speech on Sunday, PM Modi had said that India has given a befitting reply to those who cast an evil eye on its territory in Ladakh, stating that while the country honours the spirit of friendship, it is also capable of giving an appropriate response to any adversary.
